Xbox One news: Project Scorpio update, new Backwards Compatibility games, Crackdown 3

MICROSOFT responds to the cancellation of Scalebound on Xbox One, as new backwards compatible games are revealed and Crackdown 3 gets an update.
Xbox one Scorpio is not a PC says Microsoft.

Xbox One Scorpio has been given an update by Microsoft ahead of the 2017 release date.

Microsoft is keen to point out that the Xbox One Scorpio is not like a PC, and is every inch a gaming console like the Xbox One.

After one fan expressed concerns that the Scorpio was a gaming PC made to look like a console, Spencer replied: "That's not what Scorpio is. It's a console.

He followed it up with: "No, the console experience is different from PC imo, and XB1, XB1S, Scorpio etc are consoles."

The Xbox One Scorpio currently has a holiday 2017 release date, and will be priced like a premium console.

Xbox One exclusive Crackdown 3 development isn't going as smoothly as planned, according to new reports.

Following the shock cancellation of Scalebound, industry insider shinobi602 looked in to the state of fellow Xbox One exclusive Crackdown 3.

"Also asked around a bit and Crackdown 3 is safe, coming along fine," shinobi602 tweeted. "Development was rough but all game development is to be fair."

But as shinobi602 pointed out in a follow-up tweet, fans shouldnn't be too concerned about the game being cancelled like Scalebound.

“Yea, it’s been rough, and there’s still issues but nothing like Scalebound is what I meant. It’s coming along."

Crackdown 3 has been tipped to launch in 2017, although little has been seen since it was announced.

The Xbox One Backwards Compatibility games list has been updated with SEVEN new titles by Microsoft.

The news was confirmed by Xbox executive Larry Hryb, who revealed the identity of the seven new games to join the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility program on Twitter.

"Strania, The Splatters, Scrap Metal and Ghostbusters are coming to Xbox One Backward Compatibility today," Hryb wrote.

Before adding: "Also, Dragon Age Origins, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 & Battlefield 3 are coming to Xbox One Backward Compatibility today."

It's a big list that boasts some quality titles from the Xbox 360, especially Battlefied 3 and Dragon Age Origins.
